Hi, I just wanted to say I really do want to buy Inferno and ultimately intend to. Endless Legend is my favorite 4X game by pretty much a mile. But I've been hearing about how broken the Kapaku are as a faction and it's made me want to hold off. The stories I've heard is that if the Kapaku are being played by an A.I., they will pretty much dominate every other A.I. not playing Kapaku and that would become rather dreary quickly. I've also been hearing rumblings of Era 2 by turn 10 which is kinda nuts.

Once the Kapaku have been brought in line with the other major factions, I'll buy it first thing. I know I have the ability to buy it now and disable the content until it's ready balance-wise, but my current life situation requires me to watch every penny.

That said, I am sincerely grateful to Amplitude for continuing to support and adding to Endless Legend, a game that pretty much made 4X playable for me. It was a genre I was always outside-looking-in on and EL is where that trend finally broke. I don't want to come off as not being supportive of the addition to the game, I'm absolutely thrilled that EL is being kept relevant, but I did want to communicate that I'm not feeling encouraged to get the new content right now.

This is sadly true.

Kapaku are so broken than the competitive players ban them from their games.

I don't know about that. Since I don't play MP games, I have no clue if they are broken or not. I enjoy them in the SP campaign myself.

I mostly play SP as well. But the problem is that if the Kapaku are dramatically broken, even your SP games will be busted as well. I've heard that either you play Kapaku and you dominate, or whichever A.I.s are playing Kapaku will be your only real opponents. You can avoid this by manually setting all of the A.I.'s factions, but for me part of the fun is not knowing who my competitors will be until I've encountered them.

So yeah, until the Kapaku are brought into line, I'm not buying Inferno even for my singleplayer experience. I don't want lava munchkins wrecking my random opponent option.

Heh, I totally understand, but them being OP kind of fits their main quest :D But to each their own.

We are almost ready to push a patch out that includes balancing, but there's an elusive issue with world gen that needs quashing before we can push the update live.

Hopefully we'll have more info soon.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up! I have my finger on the trigger for Inferno, believe me.

The latest patch includes a fairly big rebalance of the kapaku, maybe Jojo and some of the guys will try it out and tell you how the faction feels now :)

I am curious to give it a try. I downloaded Endless Legend through my Steam client again last night and am eager to play around with the new features.

Also try out the community balance patch for further AI tune ups and othr fixes!
