Seriously consider making the Hissho in Endless Legend. They could fit perfectly into a shelf where there's space. Aztec samurai birds living in jungles (of course there's already Nidya, but they don't hatch, they birth, so they're not bird-people)

It would be nice to have some nonhumans with more than one faction
