Localising the game

Hello everyone.

I believe I should admit that I am not entirely certain this is the correct subforum for this. Honestly, I have a hard time deciding where to post my question, as it doesn't really concern game design, nor is it modding in the traditional sense (and my programming skills are still too limited, even though I'm working on it).

So, the thing is, I'm studying translation studies (it honestly sounds better in my language) and would like to further improve my skills by translating EL into Czech. I know there is a way to translate the files locally  (which is absolutely amazing), but alas, the game doesn't seem to support some letters of our alphabet. These are crucial as it's impossible to tell some words apart without them, not to mention it's incredibly annoying to read in Czech with a good chunk of the alphabet missing (it's the "near-incomprehensible-YouTube-English-level" annoying). It ruins any possible enjoyment of having the translation, defeating the purpose in the process.

I would love to somehow get in touch and ask whether it would be possible to add support for characters such as ů, ě etc. (I can conduct some experiments and make a full list of characters that need to be supported). Or even better, whether I could volunteer to create an official translation. I only want the experience and the possibility to finally play with my fiancée, who happens to... not like English. She refuses to play or watch anything that's not translated as she can't immerse herself in such case.

Translating on-the-go is not always and option and usually slows everything down too much, not to mention it can't match the quality of a proper, revised translation. I believe the game's fantastic lore deserves a bit more effort put into it in this regard, so I'd rather aim for quality.

Now, I don't want this to come across as bragging, because I do indeed have a lot to learn. Still, I'd like to think I'm also not completely incompetent and unexperienced, as I already maintain the official Czech localisation of Faeria (a wonderful, if a little unknown, digital card game). I know it's a lot of work and it could be rather complicated now that Endless Legend got new life breathed into it and is likely to change in the upcoming months. Yet, the possibility to get some of my friends into it and learn something new along the way is very tempting.

Therefore, I would like to ask whether it would be possible for this amazing, fascinating game to be played in Czech one day. It would really mean a lot to me. I do not want anything in return, as seeing people close to me enjoying the game in their native language is the greatest reward I could get anyway.

Thank You in advance for answering and for reading through this.

So, I have also tried to go through a quick test and came to these conclusions (purely based on the main menu, didn't go in-game, as I don't have my desktop around and my laptop doesn't handle the game itself very well).

These characters do not seem to be supported as they do not appear at all: Č, Ď, Ř, Š, Ť, Ů, Ž, č, ď, ř, š, ť, ů, ž

These characters appear, but their font is different (but this might be just me not realizing something about the encoding): Ě, Ň, Ý, ě, ň, ý

Most other special characters (á, é, í, ó, ú and their capital forms) appear to work properly.
