So, I came back to playing after a long time, got all the new DLCs... and I can't find anything about this mechanic. How does the Mykara Tunnel Gateway works? From in-game, what I understood was that I could move my units through them, but I can't get it to work... am I understanding this wrong? Do I need any special tech?

First of all you need to put a spore on at least two ruins. You can only teleport between infected ruins. You don't need any special tech. Just get your units near a infected ruin and use the teleport comand in the left hand bottom corner. It's where you usually have the auto-explore, sleep and garrison options. A new button will appear. Click that, short animation, click the ruin you wanna TP to. Done.

OHMYGOD. I almost NEVER look at those commands on the bottom! Thanks a lot Legion0 <3

I ended up almost never growing over ruins because I thought it was just waste of food >.< no I have almost nowhere to go ROFL

Its not a waste of food, its  an investment. After you overgrow a tile you gain the output of the overgrown tile. I overgrow everything, literally everything. I almost always have one or two overgrowths on the go. Never stop.

This ends up paying dividends once you complete the faction quest.  You get insane FIDS.

Make sure to get the era 4 watchtower upgrade (or was it 5?), that gives you +1 explotation area on your watchtower blooms. Works quite nicely for the tech you get for completing the main quest.

Or, what I prefer doing, unlock the Winter 3 Watchtower, which also increases your exploitation range (doesn't stack, sadly, with the Enlightened Trade). I try to unlock the Winter 2 Blessing that allows me to craft the Ring with Auriga Affinity 3, and use it to get more pearls.

In my playthroughs, I always reached winter 3 before era 5.
