Multiple empires of the same race?

In ES, it was frequently the case that you'd wind up with multiple empires of the same faction in a single game. This prompts me to ask the following questions:

1. Will it be possible to have more than one "empire" of the same race/faction in EL?

2. If the answer to (1) is yes, then what will be done to differentiate them?

With respect to (2), ES did very little to differentiate one "empire" from another. Essentially the only variation between empires of the same faction was the color assigned to them. I foresee additional problems in EL if this is only variation between empires of the same faction:

A. If each faction has a scripted list of city names, how will the game select those names if more than one empire of the same faction exists?

B. Feedback that only refers to the faction by its name is confusing. (E.g. Which cravers empire is that again??? Oh, yeah, the yellow one, that's right . . .)

On a side note, this seems like a wonderful opportunity for added depth. Instead of having generic Broken Lords in green and generic Broken Lords in red, why not assign different national titles to each Broken Lords empire appearing your roll of the game? The easiest way I see to implement this is to just name it after whatever the first city founded by the faction is called: "The Kingdom of [insertcitynamehere]."

I second this. We need to have three or more tiers per A.I. so that difficulty can be adjusted individually with personality quirks. That would be amazing.

And "Kingdom" could also change (why not Empire? Holy See? Republic? Or even Horde?)

Sounds good to me--the label given to the state in question could reflect the government type of that state.

just imagine being a peaceful race, perhaps having abilities benefiting smaller empires, then when you send scouts out all you see is cities belonging to ''The Horde''.
