I love the look of the game. I have to say that for as much as I love the upcoming batch of new fantasy based 4x turn-based games, Endless Legends has by far the best look to it.

Thanks for all the very nice comments -- it was great to meet you as well (if we are keeping secrets, I won't tell anyone about the famous games you did...).

Please keep up the positive posts because we need the positive reinforcement! smiley: smile

All of the third-party press coverage of EL during and after GDC, with a lone exception (the Geekscape article) assert an "early April 2014" time-frame for Steam Early Access. The articles are also quite consistent about claiming an "end of the year" window for going gold. Early April, tantalizingly close then; I hope we'll get to see some more screenshots and videos in the meantime. Thank you for the link.

Totally with you on that! Especially given how few seconds there are of actual footage lol. That said, I'm grateful to have it all--it was a wonderful surprise.

Had some of the guys from Amplitude demo Endless Legend and not only looked great (which is no surprise) but was well beyond my expectations as far as implementation and gameplay. Cannot wait for this to come out! Great work guys - another hit in the making!

about the mana, i don't think it is going to be a resource as none of the screenshots feature any sort of mana icon in the management menu. however, amplitude has said there will be magic and mana is a widely accepted magical currency. i suppose we will just have to wait and see.

Agreed. I very much enjoyed Endless Space. I'd been yearning for a new MoO for a long time and found that ES filled that need quite nicely. I've also been looking for a new MoM or MoM-like game for a LONG time. There have been a bunch of recent games that have tried, some of which have developed their own identity, but they all seem sort of hollow. EL looks and sounds captivating. There are real attempts at solving problems that plague TBS games there (or at least make significant iterations on existing solutions).

That said, if you feel comfortable answering the following, I'd be grateful. I'm sure everyone else here would be too.

1. The GamersGlobal.de coverage talked about the production of "mana." As far as I know, there is no such resource in the game, unless something has radically changed since the GDDs came out. Is there such a resource? Did GamersGlobal just misreport this?

2. Both the PC Gamer and GamersGlobal.de coverage asserted that the game would be available on Steam Early-Access in early April. Was the same representation made to you? GamersGlobal also claimed that three races would be available for play with the Early-Access version (I'd assume these to be the Vaulters, Wild Walkers, and the Broken Lords, given the game screenies that have so far been released).

Makes total sense to me. lol I have to say, though, that I'm a tad saddened by the fact that there seems to be little third-party press coverage of EL at GDC. There's been one work-up in PC Gamer and one other in GamersGlobal.de. Maybe we'll see more starting next week when people get back to the office.

Yah, it takes time for press to get out there. It will happen. smiley: smile I think game does speak for itself. Like endless space, I believe it will do very well. Personally, as I said earlier, I am more excited about this Endless Space (which is my fav 4x game in recent memory).

Hah - let me explain. I only saw the demo because I am also a game developer and they were friendly enough to give me a private demo. It was behind closed doors and I am not sure what they have shown publicly. I would rather hold off saying anything because of respect and understanding that they want to control their message. If they are showing the game, I am sure some press will pick it up and report it with great screenshots and video. I was very excited and impressed with what I saw and cannot wait to buy this game - I am a big fan of this game and the company.

Actually, I am not sure if I can talk about it. It was behind close doors and better safe then sorry - really sorry man. I was really impressed however with what they have done. I loved Endless Space and I think I am going to like Legends even more.
