It seems that the Quest System could fulfill this with out making a separate campaign. Each faction would have it's own "master quest" that would be multi-stage and result in Victory if completed. Since they mention 8 different victory conditions, I'm sure this is one of them.

With eight factions, we'd be getting eight campaigns, which is pretty cool, assuming that the factions are more distinct than in Endless Space...

i'm not sure that endless legend doesn't need demonic magic penguins, they would be quite a unique faction too, perhaps one specializing in winter?

finally? i scan the forums looking for such threads. Also, an in depth policy tree would be really nice.

What do you mean, precisely?

i mean like being able to use the prestige points in a sort of policy tree in which you could really decide what way you want your government to be going giving various bonuses perhaps at the cost of other abilities i.e. +x dust per x -x food per x, though it should still say fairly noncomplicated and easy to use.

So pretty much the way that culture gains you policies in Civ 5?

kind of like that but have the whole system be one tree and be able to really specialize in a few areas, perhaps enhancing your factions traits or covering up their weaknesses. also, id really like to compare it more to endless space's hero skilltree than the civ policy tree. overall id really like to be able to choose how extreme i want any policy not just a template for every ideology that all factions have in common like in civ v. example: investing in stockmarket +1 dust per population or investing in caravans +2 per caravan. obviously it would be nice to not have such dull options but the point i want to make is that you could have only one not both, following such a system i would imagine by the end of the game all factions will have a intricate amount of different policies with no faction being the same in that regard. just an idea from me on how a unique policy could be implemented.

The way that prestige has been described makes it sound like it has a similar sort of function, but that the effect is temporary and lasts only as long as the plan chosen lies in place. But I totally understand wanting to be able to tweak your faction as the game progresses. It would be interesting if this could be accomplished through means complimentary to the standard tech tree.
