Hi Auriga wanderers and landshapers,



I like the idea of the food stock to use during winter or to boost your population growth, but it bothers me a little that it is created through industry, it doesn't sound "logic" to me and Dr Spock.



A simple suggestion that i thought would be an option to activate/deactivate the population growth, and any extra food that is not consumed from the maintenance of that population would be added to a food stockpile.

Another way would be for the food stock creation to consume part of the food production of the city.



Let's say you have a city with 3 population, each population consumes 2 /turn (just a rand number, i didn't check the actual mechanic), and your city produces 16 /turn.

Stopping the population growth would give you an extra 10 /turn that could accumulate into a food stockpile.



How does that sound? Would it slow the game too much?

Storing up food for winter sounds awesome Pillaging said food stocks during winter even more fun ^^ (if you need the food and said nation is *ehm* less in need and with less military power)

In fact ind is logical : it represents the worker time used. So while they stockpiled food they weren't doing anything else.

It does seem kind of silly, but it is the only system that seems to work.



If stockpiling food came from food - what would be the point of saving for winter?

Say a winter causes starvation, causing 100 food lost over the duration of the winter.

Whether you put that food into the city food/population center, or saved 100 and then used it to counter the winter, either way you would be in the same position.

On the subject of stocks, just how do I use them? I've built some industry stocks but for the life of my can't figure out how to use them. Is stock empire wide or on a city basis? I know you can sell it on the marketplace, but I'm talking about using it for myself.

Use em on the empire screen. Click the number box to the icon. It is added to city you choose. Resources work otherwise and adds a bonus empire wide but costs more for each city you have. Also used on empire screen. I had the same questions when i started testing the game. Need more in game feedback to show you these things imho. But I am sure it will be more clear later.
