Since I cannot continue my Broken Lords series until the game-breaking bug has been fixed, I decided to start a brand new series as Vaulters smiley: biggrin

It's a rough start but things will get better in part 2. My only worry is that the bug is still lurking in the shadows of the game's code, so here's hoping the devs fix it quickly

Also, there's no "vaulters" tag on these forums smiley: confused

EDIT: Here's a link to this series' playlist:

You'll be happy to know that the first Vaulters quest was changed in 0.4.3 release. You now have to simply pacify and assimilate any Minor Faction. This requires that you take Language Square.

Someone dug into the XML and found that Search Party increases your odds of finding something in Ruins by 10% (not how much you get). How good this is depends on the original chance. Assuming the non-SP rate is 50% (which means you'll score 20% more hits with SP) do you think it is worth taking still? Agree that if you going to take Search Party you should take it first.

I don't think it's worth it, although I posted a suggestion about multi-layer ruins, so that each ruins have numerous levels, going deeper into the ruin would freeze your stack on world map (because they move inside ruin they cannot move on world map just instantly after on world map).

Going deeper and failing a fight there against inhabitants could be bad if you have cities in the vincinity. Maybe I should make a thread solely about that. Multi-suggestion threads do not seem to go far and I can understand why.

It's a good thing they changed it. A bit late for me though :3

I'm pretty sure that ruins do not currently work as intended. The devs wanted the search party to work so that the odds of not finding anything are only 10% (or 20, I forgot, but I think it's 10). In combination with indiana bones you're not supposed to be even able to find empty ruins.

Regardless, Search Party is still worthwhile and I will defend it even when I have the worst luck imaginable. Increasing your chances of finding anything instead of nothing is very important, especially when you can grab search party quickly, perhaps even before exploring any ruins. It's a small science investment which pays of with a hefty amount of dust and, occasionally, some useful resources that you otherwise could've missed.

Btw - the bug is fixed now, so not only this playthrough is safe but I'm also able to continue with my Broken Lords one! smiley: biggrin

I'm not sure as my evidence is anecdotal but 50-60% feels right. Of course, if you watch your part one you'd think the hit rate is really low. If it does work the way you mention above (base chance to find something is 80%) then Search Party is a very weak tech. 8/10 vs 9/10 (or even 10/10 if I use my first Hero skill to increase the odds more) is not that big of a jump. Which would you rather have:

8 Quests/Dust boosts -AND- Seed Storage on turn 3 -AND- Mill Foundry sooner -AND- +1 Move on your Hero army

OR

10 Quests/Dust boosts

I think the former is a better way to start. Now if 5/10 is the base chance, the increase is more significant and Search Party/Indiana Bones is compelling.

They may have changed this by increasing the number of Ruins sites on the map. There seems to be a lot of them...

I think I didn't really make myself clear there. I'm pretty sure that ~50% is the base chance of finding stuff and that search party is meant to increase it up to 80/90%. But again, don't quote me on those numbers :3 At any rate, the increase is meant to be significant.

Reviving this old thread because I finally finished this series smiley: smile This is, so far, my longest Endless Legend series and it certainly features the biggest turnarounds. I think this playthrough is also my favorite tbh, despite the fact that it's also the least viewed one ^_^

I'll add a link to the conviniently created playlist to the first post.

And post it here:

Here's the final part:

Thanks to anyone that decided to stick around for so long! <3
