So how exactly do you take over an enemy city Oo smiley: confused? I've noticed certain city improvements raise defense and the manual says that laying siege to a city will reduce its defenses. Here is one for the suggestion list: if a cities defense value is really important then it's current value should be easily visibly from the strategic map (at least for your own cities). I've been laying siege to a city for what seams like forever. Is it supposed to surrender when the defense hits zero or something? Or am I supposed to do something else to take the city?

as of right now all you have to do is attack a city, you dont have to siege. If you attack a city and it has no defenders in it's garrison you automatically take the city for yourself, if the city has troops in its garrison a battle will trigger a battle and if you win you take the city.

In an up coming update they will add a city militia to join any armies that may be in the city garrison, once that happens besieging a city will be come relevant. So you will have an option of attacking an enemy city right away and hope to overcome the city militia with whatever army you brought or siege the city and erode its defense rating to the point where the populace has dropped from starvation and the cities defense has fallen and made less city militia available

You're right, it is super easy to take over a city. I don't know why it wasn't working the first time. Ah well.
