Keyboard Shortcuts?

That's a good idea but, really, we should start out by just trying to get some basic keyboard shortcuts for obvious functions. Then we can worry about involved things like mapping multiple zoom levels and toggles.

Right now we don't even have basics like "toggle tile yields" or "toggle hex grid" or even "end turn"!

what's the command for turning the camera? (and the cheap left look and right look but to turn it 180)

a 101 and one times.. I face cliffs against non-cliffs.. and I can't figure out the route the computer will have to take cause I can't even turn the camera to see the upper and lower levels smiley: frown

Thanks for the info, came here looking specifically for "Next Unit"-type shortcuts, Space appears to do that for me.

This is maybe wrong place to ask such thing, but could you please make story (race) cutscenes unskippable by any key except Esc? I want to make screenshots there smiley: embarassement

Home/End rotate the map a few degrees.

I'd love to be able to rotate the map all the way. Better to enjoy the great game world the devs have created.

Space executes turn on some instances, but more often then not it won't and just cycles armies. =/

Sorry, AmpliMath, but the following is false. Could it be outdated?

In my version, 1.02 present on Steam:

"* Tab navigates between armies and cities if a city or army is selected. If nothing is selected, the capital is selected and focused"

Tab only navigates between cities, jumping to capital if army or nothing is selected.

"* Space executes planned moves for armies. If no planned move remind, it passes the turn."

Numpad_Enter has this function. Space cycles between armies with move points left.

Is there a list of keyboard shortcuts somewhere? Randomly pressing buttons hoping to find them by trial and error isn't working so well.

It would be nice if we could customize some of these, such as the interface toggle. Yes I just hate having the giant name popup next to my city, F10 however is pretty annoying key to use. Something like A or some other key next to the space bar. A dedicated "I said end of turn now" key would also be nice. Sometimes, especially when switching interface on/off the spacebar will bork.

Another nice easthetics shortcut would be predefined zoom levels, I find theres a very nice sweet spot where you're pretty close in to see the nice graphics but still have a fairly wide angle that you get good intel, however switching to it is fidly compared to the super birds eye view and you have to occasionally zoom to the map view. So what would help is to have:

KEY > aesthetics zoom (close enough to see details such as trees, but not minimum zoom level, that's useless)

KEY > strategic zoom (a little bit before map zoom; just far enough you see your armies clearly)

KEY > map zoom (ie. all the way out where you see continents and regions clearly)

A key that just toggles between them would also work.

Yep, I'm toggling the yields on and off constantly so having to use the mouse is a pain. Even if that were the only hotkey added EVER it would eliminate 2/3 of my annoyances.

Yes! +1

Switching the tile yields on and off is one of my Most repeated actions. A shortcut would be very helpful.

It would be really great if you could add hotkeys for Show Hex Grid and Show Tile Yields, for example. H and Y would be the obvious choices. I'm loving the game (just got it) but the lack of keyboard shortcuts for many things is a constant low level annoyance.

Or just make it possible to mod in whatever keyboard shortcuts we want using, uh, modding. I'd do that myself if I knew how.

Hi all,

Since we wanted to add more shortcuts in the future, I did not want to give the full list before it is complete.

But here is the current state:

* Esc closes the current screen or panel and returns to the default view. Most of the time the right clic performs the same action

* Numpad_Enter passes the turn

* Enter/Return opens the console/chat. I guess you found this one already smiley: smile

* F1 opens the empire screen

* F2 opens the city list

* F3 opens the research screen

* F4 opens the quest screen

* F5 opens the academy screen

* F6 opens the military screen

* F7 opens the diplomacy screen

* F8 opens the market place

* F9 opens the status screen

* F10 hides the UI, for example to make nice screenshots

* Left/Right/Down/up arrows translate the camera. ASDW perform the same action but alas it is not properly bound for non-QWERTY keyboard. We face a Unity limitation to rebind inputs to other languages

* PageUp/PageDown zooms in/out the view

* Tab navigates between armies and cities if a city or army is selected. If nothing is selected, the capital is selected and focused

* Space executes planned moves for armies. If no planned move remind, it passes the turn.

* Backspace expands/minimizes notifications.

That's it for now!

Cheers,
