Hey guys, just joined the forums themselves.

So, Endless Legend is kind of my first turn-based strategy game that I'm actually trying to get into. I really like the Endlessverse, and I've been trying to get good at Necrophages. They've just got an awesome style (Especially Proliferators. Freaking LOVE those things.) And they only thing I would really drop them for is if Sisters of Mercy suddenly got upgraded to a major faction.

But, I've had some problems. So I figured I would come along and see what other people do with them.

First of all, Foragers just kind of suck until you start upgrading them. My best example is that my first two can get wrecked by minor faction units within the first couple turns, butting me WAY behind. This is kind of annoying because those two basically need Feeds on Bones to babysit them, which prevents him from being a seriously awesome governor.

My other main question is once I get my armies going. Is it better to have a couple groups of 8 units? Or a bunch of smaller armies of 2-3 guys? I mostly ask this because it feels like late-game phages need to be EVERYWHERE, because everyone hates you and is coming to kick your ass. And generally my big death-balls, while cool to blow through the enemy with, simply can't cross the map fast enough if another army decides their sick of my bugs.

So yeah, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, welcome to the EL forum smiley: smile

Foragers are canon feeder. so unless you send them in pack or with high tech gears, they will be crushed by anything/anyone. Try to conquer a haunted camp with your first 2 forager and you will understand smiley: wink try to build drone ASAP, they outshine foragers. Proliferators or ("broodmother" in my games) are good but IMO you shouldn't got more than 2 unit per army. they don't realy shine in combat (the least to say) and they create "broodlings". Too much prolif means skyrocketing upkeep cost of your army.

Don't forget to use necro drone as early scout. build them cheap (no armor + speed movement talisman/enhenced vision)

Basicaly their is 2 way to consider the eXpension part of 4X games your.

- Play tall => like a turtle, you conquer 3-4 regions only. you build small army but high tech and well defended fortress. "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush"

- Play wide=> like spider, you make a web of conquered cities. big empire means big income, but more micromanagement...and more map awerness; harder to defend.

I play necro custom "The hive"

The Hive don't want to intereact with you. The Hive want to grow, become « Plumpy ». Leave the Hive alone. Be nice, or be « Nhomnhom'ed » !!

Improved Industry

Improved Food

Pitiless

Cellulose Mutation

Very simple and yet effective. I play tall, 1-3 cities. with 10ish district each.
