Resource gathering and anomalies

Bought the game yesterday so please dont'e bear a grudge for this question.

To gather resources I must put a resource mine on them right? But what if a resource pops up under my city center? And What about anomalies? Can I benefit from resources and anomalies by having them in an hex around the city or do I need to build something right on them? What if I build a borough upon a resource?

If there's a resource deposit (strategics or luxuries) under a city center or borough, and you have the appropriate tech, the city acts as an extractor.



The tiles that surround your cities are called exploitation tiles, and you get all the FIDSI on them, including from anomalies.

Thank you! Another thing pertaining cities: influence. Hod does it work? Can I conquer enemy cities with it?

No. You use it to make diplomatic proposals and for your empire plan.

Influence can be used to set up your Empire Plan (it's primary function) every 20 turns, which provide benefits to certain aspects of the game and allow you to focus your attention on certain strengths. It can also be used for all diplomatic functions (declaring war, making trades, suing for peace, etc).



I don't think you can change tags.
