I got some helpful advice when it came to the forgotten(managed to win a multiplayer game with them!), and i'm back for some help with the dust lords. I'm currently fighting a necrophage player who attacked me, for the past 10
turns me and my friend have been slugging it out fighting back and fourth over the land between our cities. I currently have the Calvary unit researched, stalwarts and the orge neutrals. I was wondering are the dust bishops worth getting vs the nercophages, would they add a good amount of ranged damage to my armies or should i keep pumping out stalwarts and the Calvary unit to fight my friends armies. They mostly consist of necrodrones and battleborn at this point all of his proliferater's have been killed through the war of attrition that we have going on.
A summary of my questions follows
First, our dust bishops worth researching and making to fight the nercophages or in general?
Secondly, is the calvary unit worth making as well i've mostly been using it to harress his cities so he can't march all of his units to the main battle front and to snipe proliferaters in battle.
Thirdly I have is what types of units do bonus damage to flying units?(The necro drones he is making are pretty beast)
------
This is a score screen picture that my friend took from his prospective(I told him to upgrade his units when he sent it to me), from it you can see that the war started at around 48, and he backed off to consolidate the city that he took from me, since then both of us have been on a total war
footing. This is the funniest game i've had playing with my group of friends with the back and fourth war, and the diplomacy of preventing my other friend from attacking me in the back creating a two front war.
Dust Bishops are extremely good units and are definitely worth researching. Keep them adjacent to your other units and every time they attack, they heal all friendly units near them. This will counteract the Necrophages' disease (damage-over-time) ability and give your army a lot more staying power.
The Ryders are alright but I personally find them a little lackluster. They're good for hitting soft, back-line targets and applying pressure but I wouldn't have more than a couple in your army.
It's not "units" that do extra damage to flying units, it's weapons. You'll want units that can use the Longbow (none of the Broken Lords units can use them by default) so look into some of the ranged Minor Faction units, the Geldirus come to mind.

I think you mean the Hurnas. The Geldirus are cavalry.
Dust Bishops are definitely worth it, they are one of the best supports and tier 3 units in the game, for the reasons Avilyss mentioned. Keep tight formations, and you should be able to contend with the Necrophages.
Ryders can be useful on the strategic level for harassment and pillaging, as you have been using them. But I do not find that they complemented the Broken Lords stalwart / bishop backbone that well. You can still use them for the hammer, in the hopes they will stun the necrodrones. But I think you're better off using MF units like Hurnas for that anti-flyer damage. Haunts, Harmonites, and Sisters of Mercy too could be useful, considering their immunity to disease.
I also recommend advancing in the Broken Lords quest if you are able. Once you unlock regeneration after each battle, the ability of the Necrophages to deal attrition through disease battle after battle becomes nullified.
On a strategic level, it might be a good idea to raze villages around the necrophage if you can, to deny them cadavers and thus food. It will impede on their development quite a bit.

I think the Dust Bishops are almost always worth researching, as they massively boost the resilience of your armies. The attack of Dust Bishop might not be low, but if you get them the gear with the best damage bonuses, their healing is substantial. And given that you want to surround them with Stalwarts anyway, they tend to get a decent attack boost from morale.
Ryders, on the other hand, aren't great. Their Initiative is much better than the Stalwarts, their Defense and Life much worse, and their Attack and Damage are noticeably better, but in my opinion not enough to make up for the lost staying power of Stalwarts. Their special ability might be better now, as they received a buff, but it used to be nothing to write home about.
In addition to bows, I believe axes also receive extra damage against Flying units. Unfortunately, I don't think Urces can use Axes.

I personally don´t like Stalwart/Dust Bishop formations, I think there´s not enough damage to go around and they can be countered too easily. Unless the terrain is your favour, there´s not much stalwarts will be able to do against units harassing Dust Bishops.
While there´s still only 6 slots, I preffer to have one Dust Bishop in my main, Hero-led army with 3 Stalwarts and 2 Ryders, and a larger proportion (3 Bishops for 3 ryders) coming from reinforcement range. There´s no comparison between the attack of Stalwarts and Ryders unless you use Ryders wrongly.

Axes deal extra damage against Support and Ranged units. Spears deal extra damage against cavalry, Swords deal extra damage against Infantry and Bows deal extra damage against Flying.

Second mistake I make today. I should probably leave for the time being. Thanks for correcting me, though.
