Hey everyone,
The Endless Space 2 ModDB competition winners have been announced! All 10 winners will receive a Sega digital game bundle; those placing from 4th to 2nd will also receive a signed and framed Endless Space 2 print; while the first place winner will get their lucky hands on a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU! In case you missed the contest, here is a quick recap of the 3 mods that made it to the podium!
Winner - Endless Romance, by Lilyophelia
Endless Romance is a deep story-driven mod that adds numerous new events and cholorful characters to the game. Endless Romance was created by Lilyophelia, with art and additional work by Ivyfetish. Endless Romance is so ambitious that the mod even features translations into French, German, and Russian! In this mod, among many other things, you'll meet Lumeris princess Aurelia. What will become of her and hers might affect your society as a whole...
Runner-up - Heroes of Auriga by Spyb0y
Spyb0y's Heroes of Auriga adds the 16 (plus Kreyang) characters from Dungeon of the Endless as heroes in Endless Space 2. They have a unique set of class and faction, as well as 2 unique starting skills, and can be recruited like any other hero. On top of that, a new quest asks you to find Auriga at the start of the game, and rewards you with 4 of these heroes on completion!
Third place - Blitz Mode by Timmeh_ZA
The Blitz mode allows for a faster, more tense game, oriented towards competition. It includes a bunch of smaller mods created by Timmeh_ZA specifically for inclusion with this mod, but that can also be used on their own: System Boost 3x; Strategic Command; Improved Planetary Improvements; Richer Loot; Deep Space Mining; Total Law; Seedlings; Move More; Salvage More; Fleet Shipyard; GetCrackin', & Bunker Busters.
If you want to check out all the entries in the contest, head over to the competition's page on ModDB, as well as the announcement of all ten winners. As an extra little surprise, we'll add in a little gift for all contestants! We hope you will enjoy these mods, and that this'll spark some ideas for new mods in the future.
