As for me, all these skins are not good.
Skins to Craves and UE did not just change the color, but also changed the elements of the model.
Judging by the screenshots, these skins change only the color, which means that AS is lazy. It winds up melancholy.

And the ships of the new faction are simply terrible.
There was a feeling that the creation of models of ships spent half an hour in 3ds max.
They just pasted many transparent semicircles.
If their modeler has found this to be beautiful then he is not right.
In addition, you can predict the style of ships.
Since the style of characters and ships is completely different.
The faction is more like a samurai, and the ships are Egyptian.
It looked good in ES 1, but here it looks pretentious and unqualified.

But the rest of the addition does not disappoint and gives a new gaming experience. I have already played about 20 hours in it and the blood from the eyes comes only from the ships of the new faction.

Ships of space samurai should have looked practical and not pretentious. They are war and not clowns.

They are also.Aztecs in influence. With that in mind I personally love it. Even more so than I did in ES1.

The Aztec or Samurai themes are not particularly important.
I'm talking about something else.
Just look at their last ship, They just ponastavili this blue semicircular garbage, it is not clear why.

Even attached to the bottom of the ship.

Not to mention the fact that the guns could be put as accurately as possible, rather than sculpt it on neon panels.

And judging by their location, this is clearly not for aerodynamics.

They are located in different positions on all ships.

A ship scout generally makes it clear that they planned even more.
The planks inside the flap stand in place and are not part of the flap.

And they were planning to do these strange things.
Because on one of them and this garbage is.

It can be seen that the ships are made in a hurry and not qualitatively.
Personally, I really want them to be finished.
Because it looks ugly and crooked.

I understand where you are coming from, but I honestly don't see the problem. I quite enjoyed it considering it's fictional sci-fi trope, pretty unique in comparison to ships in most franchises and respectful to the theme.  I don't think the semi-circular is anything unfinished, to me at least they immediately felt very evocative of ornaments in aztec art, kinda like small wings or feathers. Ofc it's not practical at all in a real model, but then again, most ornaments aren't.
Tbh the semi-circles are probably one of the things that I liked the most about the design. I do respect your opinion tho.

Well they need no Aerodynamics in space, so maybe they thought lets use ornaments or smth. alike to make our ships look more awesome. That is one of their strategies after all, making their ships look stronger. =)

You don't like the skins ? Great for you, then you don't need to use them. This is. Free Content. You are not paying for this content with any money. So complaining that they may have put less work into these skins when compared to the other ones not only makes you sound like a dick but also a spoiled brat. Skins, coming from someone who plays League of Legends (a game that makes most of its money from the selling of RP to buy Skins) do not need to be of the same quality. Some are better than others, others are clearly of a lower quality. But, at the end of the day, you don't need to use any and have no right to be slandering the modelers for making retextures w/o (seemingly) adding any new models. Be happy that the company is kind enough to offer free content that, in most cases, you would pay for with money, for simply just playing their game.

And it's your opinion that the ships for the Hissho are "terrible".

There's a feeling that a team of artists, modelers, animators and other content creators worked very hard on the new ships and should be congratulated for releasing something that people like.

There's a feeling you have no idea how much work and time is needed to make new ships in the game and are using your uneducated opinions as a way to simply slander the artists.

If the modeler has found this to be beautiful then he/she has every right to as "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and you are not right for believing that your opinion is some sort of "Gods word" that can decide whether or not the artist who created this is "right" for liking what he/she made.

What is predicting the style of the ships exactly ? You clearly have a sort of artistic and historical ignorance if you think that the faction is just "samurai" and the ships are "Egyptian"

The Hissho, draw influence from a variety of cultures, and of those cultures, the most notable influences are Japanese (specifically Feudal Japan), Mesoamerican (Aztec being one of them), and Egyptian (likely pre-Roman Egypt, as Egyptian culture remained relatively unchanged until the annexation by Rome).

You must be kidding me if your thoughts about Samurai culture in Feudal Japan was all about practicality and not "pretentious"ness. That's a very ignorant, and western view of Feudal Japan, as the Samurai were far more than simply practical, deadly, warriors who only killed. For example, the armor in Feudal Japan that was used by the Samurai was often decorated, colored and would have been considered to be "standoffish". It would have been far more practical to not waste time coloring your armor and adding different additions that made each suit unique than doing what they did. Samurai culture extended to far more than just practical warriors, and so to an extent, any Sci-Fi or Fantasy faction based off of the Samurai (or other parts of Japanese culture) should have elements that make them more than just bland and "practical" and should have a sense of flavor and style (what you call being pretentious).

Those blue semi-circular fins could have a practical design that you don't know about or are simply there for the aesthetic, and honestly, there's no problem with that. It's almost like you're trying to find fault with something that isn't there.

And your complaints about the placements of the weapon modules is almost comical. You do understand that none of the ships in Endless Space 2 (or basically any large Sci-Fi Universe; Star Wars, Halo, Star Trek, Mass Effect, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc) are not created for realisticity. Otherwise, you would have weapon placements on the bottom, front, tips of wings, on the back and on the top. You would have dedicated hangers w/o sacrificing surface area for hull weaponry. There are numerous examples of problems with ships in Endless Space 2 when looking at it realistically. No ship in this game is designed (in-game) for realistic practicality. It's a Sci-Fi game. Where ships engage in combat like 18th-century galleons.

Yes, aerodynamics. For starships. Ships that fly in space. Yes, aerodynamics.

Aerodynamics:

the study of the properties of moving air, and especially of the interaction between the air and solid bodies moving through it.
  • the properties of a solid object regarding the manner in which air flows around it.

    plural noun: aerodynamics

Space:

the physical universe beyond the earth's atmosphere.

noun: outer space

There is no air in space (as far as we know). So the concern for aerodynamics both doesn't make sense, and again, this is Sci-Fi where we don't need to worry about the constraints of reality.

The ships were obviously not made in a "hurry", and they are finished.

That's why. You know. They released this content to be purchased...

May I ask a favour to Endless games players?

My trouble is that I'll be working today, and won't be able to play until Sunday, but I absolutely need those Buccaneers for my Lumeris, and actually the free-weekend web stats that only the 34% of total hours needed to unlock all the content had been played.

Can you please play today in my place??

@Suis3i

Well, someone is very hot because of the opinions on the Internet.
I doubt that you can insult someone here.
And your words sound rude.
If you want to organize a disassembly, usually people do it in private messages.

I was not going to impose my opinion on others.
If it was not clear to you, I will explain.

Only expressed it. Because it's the Internet, and here everyone does it.
You can agree with me or not. It is your right.

If I broke your fine organization of the soul (What can be noticed by the size of your message and its tone.), I apologize.

But to what do I disagree with you, since there is no aerodynamics as such, then why are there flaps?
And something you did not take into account, ships and space can, but they still take off from the ground, where there is likely an atmosphere.

Yes, I'm in the League of Legends.
But I do not see anything wrong with that.
Riot Games is keeping a close eye on the content that they release.
I'm used to paying for the content which is done very qualitatively.
And if AS were asked to pay for some content, I would gladly buy it.
Which I do constantly.

P.S. Are you following me? Maniac(

I also forgot something.
I was engaged in moding games in my time.
And I understand something in textures and models.
So these 6 colors that now you give out for a great gift, you can do in one evening in Photoshop with a couple of plug-ins and with it to cope with any schoolboy.
Than I was engaged in school years. Did models and drew textures.
To all other things, I'm a programmer by education. And he graduated from art school.
I understand something about this topic.

Everyone has the right to opinion.
Especially if he paid for it.

@SilentSunrise

No I'm very "hot" (though I think you mean heated) not b/c you expressed a differing opinion but b/c you sounded like an ungrateful, ignorant snot, and that you insulted the work of DEVs at Amplitude by calling the models they worked on "trash" and "garbage". That you shamed the artists that worked on the new content. That you acted as if you were deserving of more than what they give (you are not), and that you acted like you know anything about Japanese culture with such a narrow and ignorant mindset.

My words sound rude b/c I responded to your immature and rude comments towards the DEVs. They sound rude b/c I intended for them to sound rude, b/c I'm not gonna sit there and be nice towards someone making uncalled comments towards the hard work of a few people simply b/c you don't like what they made. You can not like content that they release and simultaneously refrain from referring to that content as "trash", "garbage", "terrible", and making disrespectful statements such as "If their modeler has found this to be beautiful then he is not right."

A simple, "I don't like the Hissho ships b/c I don't agree with 'x and y' design choices and I feel that the DEVs could have put more effort on the community challenge skins" would have sufficed.

And if I want to respond to someones publicly made comment, I'm going to do it publicly. Not through their private messages.

Just b/c this is the Internet doesn't mean you just get to be a dick and slander someone's hard work. Not even if other people do it. It's called decency.

"If I broke your fine organization of a soul", is that suppose to be an insult hidden within an apology ?

But to what do I disagree with you, since there is no aerodynamics as such, then why are there flaps?
And something you did not take into account, ships and space can, but they still take off from the ground, where there is likely an atmosphere.

I'm assuming by Flaps you mean the fins on the ship and to that I say b/c it's Sci-Fi and things don't need to make sense. Hense the Fiction part. (or they could easily be stylistic choices, or house parts that need to be housed in that manner).

And something you forgot to take into account is galactic civilizations tend to keep their starships in space. Not docked on the ground. And by space that could be docked to large space stations, operating in space (as it seems that there is no need to refuel the ships on the ground, or elsewhere for that manner), and it would be more cost effective to produce ships in or just out of a planet's atmosphere where raw resources from colonies and mining operations could reach as well as the production of massive starships could be more easily done. On top of that, if your fleet is stationed on the surface, it's susceptible to orbital bombardment by an invading fleet, and the response time getting from the surface to space is slower for a fleet than if it is already (always) in space.

But then again, as I've stated, it's Sci-Fi and there's no need for the constraints of reality.

My comment about LoL was about me ? Not you, that's why I stated it as "coming from somebody who plays League of Legends" which implies that this sentence is from my own experience.

Riot Games tries to keep a close eye on the content they release. I've played for 6 years and that's not always been the case. In fact, that's more of a recent thing. And their content is not always of the highest quality. But then again, they don't release skins for free, do they ? A single high-quality skin (so an Epic 1350RP) is $10. And even then, the quality of those skins can be questionable.

If Amplitude asked you to buy the community challenge skins, "gladly buy it" doesn't sound like the guy who stated, "As for me, all these skins are not good." does it.

@ Suis3i

I will begin, perhaps, with the fact that you must understand that in different languages different speech turns. And also the way of communication.
Because I know English at the level of individual words and popular phrases, it's hard for me to say that you and other people correctly understand what I'm saying.
At us, in Russia, English, as a rule, is very poorly taught. But, nevertheless, I have a good command of programming languages.
I'm not ashamed of what I do not know. On the contrary, it pushes to development. At the same time, I'm sad to look at people who think that everyone knows best.
The original «всезнайка» that evaluates a person is very superficial.
It is difficult to find a word in your language, such a «всезнайка». And this means - a person who considers himself smart, but not so.

Partially I translate my words with the help of Google translator.

And since he can not always choose words that are ideally suited to the meaning, a person can think of something else. Not that that was put in these words.

Therefore, I am sad to see a person who does not understand such simple things.
The same goes for you. If I wanted to offend you somehow, there are many other words and speeches for this.
And you must understand this, because you are on an international site. For example, I saw here people who write Chinese.
So you should understand that people from different countries have different mentality and different ways of communicating.
You think I'm uneducated. But how can you talk about this without understanding such simple things.

I am grateful to AS for their games and creativity. Because I've been playing in them for a very long time.
But also I can disagree with some elements of the games. As well as any person here. This is called your own opinion, if you did not know and people sometimes express it.
I can disagree with the tinsel on the ship. But I will gladly give money to these developers to support them. And do not force anything to do the developers for free.
If every free update cost money, and the developers put a little more effort to correct minor flaws. I would give money for it without thinking, for what you get for free. For example, the Russian localization in the game looks awful or, for example, that the new faction has few quests (only 4). I would not mind to pay developers for a pack of quests for Hissho. If only they continued to work, and I continued to spend time in their game.

About the ships.
You, too, did not heed something. In many in-game rollers it is shown how the ships take off or sit down on the ground. Remember at least the clips of United Empire or Unfallen, they show how the ships are in the atmosphere of the planet or take off from it.

I played LoL to this day, and I can say that RG has very good feedback from the community. Because all the content that they create is not only something new, but also a change in something that is outdated.

Even to write this message, it took me quite some time. And I hope this time I did not write something that can scam you.
