Dark Matter DLC and Pug Hero Available Now

At Amplified back in late January, we announced 2 new DLCs for the Endless Universe games, Dark Matter for Endless Space 2 and Monstrous Tales for Endless Legend. Unfortunately, we had to shift their release back twice for various reasons, but today both DLCs are ready to be played, alongside some new free content! 


So, what do you get with Dark Matter?

A heap of new quests exploring some of the more surreptitious elements active in the Endless Galaxy. Face the threat to your wealth posed by the Autonomous Bastards Collective. Get involved in the machinations of the Academy and its heroes. Race to uncover the secrets of an ancient Endless superweapon, before somebody else gets a hold of it and tries to point it at you. This, and more, awaits you in about a dozen new quests, including one new multi-chapter quest, with stunning new art. 

For the release of this new DLC, pretty much all other Endless content is 75% off, so if you are missing anything in your collection, now’s a great time to grab it!  



Even if you don’t pick up the new (or any of the old) DLCs, we still got some new content for you to enjoy: The pug hero! 

Sbejru Mashmir follows a long line of pugs in Endless games, and an even longer line of Aurigan pugs, tracing all the way back to the famous Ayairi Whairydd of Dungeon of the Endless fame. Your star systems will be in good paws under her oversight, but be careful not to cross her: She knows how to use that hammer for more than just construction.


 



The free update also includes the Tech Tree Lore Rewrite (currently only in English; other localizations will be patched in later), and from here we will move to try addressing several issues with the game and specifically with Awakening:

  • Battle Result Notifications stopping the turn from ending without reminding the player they are a notification that needs to be manually dismissed
  • The Academy Fleets (both offensive and defensive) do not scale with game speed and progress as intended
  • Effect stacking issues like Mining Probes and Backdoors
  • Academy fleets sieging player systems while at neutral relations
  • Diplomatic messages (e.g. Forced Truce) can be ignored by minimizing and ending the turn

We may not be able to address all of these for the next (non-localization) patch, but we will endeavor to fix as many issues raised by the community as we can.

The story, visuals and lore are all great but the game can't provide a stable environment to enjoy them even. I liked that game a lot a while back, it was an inspiration to play and I wished for it to have a glorious future.  tutuapp   routing numbers

Looks at them, so close together, yet forever apart. =D
Can we please go a step further beyond manual dismissal of battle 1 - 30 battle result notifications a turn? Us hasty turn warmongers can't really deal with this change.

As much as I too am sad with the state of the game, its simply not true that the game is no longer enjoyable, in fact many of the issues could be addressed by a mod similar in scope as the EL community patch, however the community in ES2 was never that large or interested and thus no committed moder emerged for this game. 


However regarding the delays, sure they should have been communicated better, but considering the global pandemic it is more than understandable. Gaming studios have HUMAN devs too who are all affected by the pandemic, you know.... 

well with the growing amount of hype for humankind, (ive been seeing content about it more and more often) if this game succeeds, it can skyrocket Amplitudes popularity, giving them the community support their games need.

I can't even imagine that much controversy within the comments on this forum several years ago. I think it is a duty of forum-active developers to pass along all the negative feedback and! all the way up to the executives, even. Because now with the lack of communication, postponing everything like its a norm, giving false promises, ignoring critical issues... games together, you say? Why bother? You have Humankind, right? I'd better have a game without any of these DLCs but with a stable gaming experience. The story, visuals and lore are all great but the game can't provide a stable environment to enjoy them even. I liked that game a lot a while back, it was an inspiration to play and I wished for it to have a glorious future. Not anymore, tbh. And it hurts. The out of place pug nonsense (could be immersed into the universe better even if its a joke) is just another droplet into the water bucket.

Careful what you wish for. As you've said HK and ED will be the focus, so if any expansions happen, they will be inevitably outsourced. Meaning they will break the game further, with fixes arriving too late if ever.

ive been hearing this may be the last expansion for the game, i dont think so, i believe endless legend was suppose to have its last expansion in 2016, only for 2 more expansions to appear in 2018 and 19, and with humankind and dungeon of the endless being the 2 focus for the next couple of years, meaning es3 likely wont be happening for a while, i am quite confident we may see one or 2 more major expansions down the line for es2, like what happened with e.l.

I would disagree, considering how much is still broken.

yea, when thats done, ill reconsider buying any DLC. really those things should have been fixed literally years ago and been taken care of long before the dog and any tech tree lore.

how about fixing the obtuse ship combat system, considering how its one of the things that separates ES2 from anything else. its bizarre to me that nothing in the game makes players aware of stuff like the differences between turrets and broadside weapons and their firing arcs, and things of this nature, like ranges per phase. nothing in the game communicates any of this or gives the player a meaningful way to analyze any of it.

I agree. This character is a joke. Off topic, and this weapon is some kind of violation of the laws of physics. How much can this block of stone weigh? E ....
