Lore

The Divine Perfection have, in their view, done it all. Life on their planets is perfect. Their rule is benevolent, and their citizens are happy. Under the watchful eye of the Goddess, they begin to seek perfection- not the selfish perfection of the self, but the unity of the galaxy and the wayward races- no matter the cost.

The Divine Perfection is a tightly-knit society ruled by a Divine Hierarch. Their society has the sole goal of 'solving the puzzle of the universe'- that of disorder, conflict and separation. Their entire society is manoeuvred towards this goal, and all citizens toil for the Goddess's favour and grace as they further the Perfection's goals.

Their allies view the Perfection as a true force of good, and a welcome ally at the peace table. Their enemies see them as arrogant, haughty and with a hypocritical view of 'peace'. As the Perfection sets its sights on expanding through the galaxy, the other citizens of the stars begin to wonder at where they fit in to the 'divine puzzle'- and whether the zealots dogma will overwhelm their own credos when the 'final peace' arrives.

Ability

The Divine Perfection are a faction well-suited to turtling and playing the diplomacy game. The Perfection expand their borders quicker than other factions, which can lead to conflict if the Perfection player expands recklessly or without regard for their neighbours. It does, however, mean they can maintain a solid homefront from encroaching factions. The other factions should not underestimate the Perfection, however, and expect them to not become a force in their own right.

Their unique ability, Divine Union, rewards the Perfection player a large percentage bonus to their FIDS as a 'golden age' when the Perfection enter into an Alliance with another player. The other faction who allies with the Perfection gains a smaller, albeit still profitable, percentage increase to their FIDS. This 'golden age' ends after a certain amount of turns, though the non-Perfection faction still receives the percentage bonus, thus providing an incentive to maintain the alliance.

The Perfection can ally with multiple factions, but only one faction is 'in communion' with the Perfection, and maintain the FIDS bonuses.

With this in mind, the Perfection can be a very interesting 'sleeper faction'. The Perfection player will scout out the best deals, making themselves valuable as an ally, and having to weigh up the benefits of triggering an alliance with a different player (to gain a new bonus for themselves) or potentially strong-arm their current ally into rewarding the Perfection with money, military support or technologies to maintain their bonus. This provides the Perfection player with interesting choices to make throughout the game.

P.S This is a great idea Amplitude! Regardless of my success in this competition, I love your lore and world-building and I can't wait for ES2!
