Affinity: Ancient Artisans

Due to their desperate want, almost primitive need for contact, the Ciciol adapted their ships to see be able to see as much as possible of the unknown beyond. Therefore, their ships were designed with the lightest and clearest materials, granting them extra sight and movement, giving them a greater chance of encountering and establishing relations with another developed nation. Upon meeting them, the Ciciol thrust their artworks forward, and are eager to learn and hear about the culture of those they meet, and therefore are instantly granted a positive diplomatic modifier to the nation they have just encountered. Since their society since it's dawn has been alone and homogeneous, they are total strangers to the motives and ideas of conflict. They are incredibly unfamiliar with the concept of war, and so never resort to it. However, if they do find the need to declare war is inevitable, they receive no negative modifier for doing so with other nations.

Backstory

Ciciol, or "peace" in Mayan, could not describe these folk better. Originating on an absurdly large planet, their primitive culture revolved around exploration, and their artisans made great works and landmarks to commemorate their crossing of large oceans and swathes of land. However, when there was no more to be discovered, they quickly realised they were alone on their planet, and therefore faced no foreign threat. Given that they all came from one culture, their civilisation was largely homogeneous, and they were free to pursue their artistic interests further. They flourished into a cultured society prioritising art above all other, mapping, painting and drawing images of their beautiful home planet, until they began to feel empty. They realised being alone for centuries left them in want of contact, and so they turned their eyes to the stars. First, they drew the stars, then they mapped them, then they researched them. Their homogeneous society worked as one and eventually, found their means to reach the sky and beyond. They ventured out, desperate for contact, desperate to spread their artworks. But will they find anything, or anyone? Or is the universe just as empty as their home?

Cool idea!  I like the name (how exactly do you pronounce it?) and the backstory. They have a unique feel, and how they are so naive venturing out into the dangerous and unknown galaxy is a good fit for the ES lore.

I want to know more! Could you flesh out the factions affinity and traits? Look at my submission, or a few other good ones out there to get an idea.

Also, is there something that encourages them to be diplomatic beyond just the initial bonus upon meeting?
