Theme : Peaceful Diplomats, with an emphasis on mutual beneficial relations, focus on minor factions internally.

Gameplay : Can form special peace/non-aggression treaties with other species. Internally, these increases Sehkan benefits from minor factions. Externally, these treaties benefit other empires by teaching them to also benefit more from their minor factions, while the Sehkan gain understanding of the major faction's strengths, assimilating a portion of their population bonus.. The Sehkan start with no population bonus (or a very weak one). They also have technologies / abilities that give them improved versions of trade / science pacts, where both sides share the increased benefit. Their pacifist ideology can affect the internal politics of empires that they are at peace with, increasing the support the other empire's pacifist faction enjoys.

Backstory : The Sehkan are unique in developing on a planet with 3 sapient species, with many others pre-sapient. How this happened is not understood, although there is some evidence the Endless were involved. The Sehkan were fascinated with the other life forms, but they in turn preferred to remain isolated. As the industrial era progressed, the other races began wars over territory and resources, initially with each other but eventually attacking the Sehkan as well. The shocked Sehkan society became increasingly militarist, and manipulated the other races during a global three-way war to turn certain defeat into an uneasy stalemate. A cold war emerged with the development of nuclear weapons. Fearing for their future, the Sehkan command manipulated the other two states to increase tension between them, eventually resulting in a full out nuclear war. The Sehkan then stepped into the ruins, using their own arsenal to obliterate the remainders of the other two powers, along with most of the pre-sapients who were caught in the crossfire. Wider Sehkan society was horrified when they learned their command had planned the deaths of the other two races, and shifted to become profoundly pacifist. As they take to the stars, the Sehkan hope to spread their idea of harmony among species and use their influence to stop wars.
