Dolos - Greek for "deception" and also an actual character of myth. He is one of the lesser known ones, meaning his name wouldn't stick out in a weird way, like say Zeus or Poseidon.

I do also happen to think that the name fits thematically. It's short, memorable, easy to pronounce, ends with an "s" (which is useful not just for faction names, but also as a sound to trail off, much more fitting to a wispy, mysterious faction than something harsher) and sounds suitably ominous/ancient.

Cheers,

K. Constantine

Dolos (δόλος) rather means "bait" though. The word for ruse, deception etc would rather be μῆτις (like in the Odyssey, when the Cyclops asks Odysseus/Ulysses who he is, he answers "μῆτις εἰμί", which can both mean "I am no-one" and "I am Ruse").

So Dolos would be something like "trick", it doesn't really fit a race of grand schemers, it's more fitting for jokers, that guy of thing.
