Something apeals to me about an espionage oraganisation of ancient provenance being some form of franchise that looks forward to "morrow" = arcaic english for tomorrow by influencing events.

It translates well into lots of european languages aswell as a guild is a pretty transparent word and you swap morrow out for an arcaic equivalent.
