Why they were labelled as cursed because the way they can blend in into an object or species and avoid any type of tax or some regulation on every civilization they infiltrate so i think this is a neutral faction that only wants to live but is danggerous if provoked by a wannabe illusionist. maybe this ancient race have a easy going personality because they dont want any trouble.  Just some of my thought :)
