  • an act or period of watching for signs of activity, danger, or opportunity
• Algol
  • A multi-star system nicknamed "the Demon Star"
  • Due to the rotation of two of the system's three stars, it appears to dim and brighten as one star eclipses another
  • Located in Medusa's head in the Perseus constellation, giving the gorgon's head a "winking" quality

Implications of the word pairing:
Espionage from Vigil.

Sinister inference from Algol in relation to gorgons (monsters), also an uncommon word and avoids being an overused, generic word.

Suggests organization/structure.

Can be applied to either religious, scientific, or poltical motives.

Flavor Text

When we rose from the madness of creation, we gazed down from a lonely sky.

We watched as the first peoples took flight, daring our garden of stars.

We have watched the tide of civilization rise and recede; the glory of their discoveries, the storms of their war.

We were there when the Endless seized their destiny... 

...and there, when it consumed them.

Through these many aeons,  we have remained silent witnesses to the cycle.

But the question has been asked...

As it has been before...

As it will be again...

Is witnessing enough?

Or do we interfere, at last?
