There are rumours that something is always watching... Something old, back from the days before the Endless rose to power and shaped the universe. They are watching and waiting. For what? No one really knows. But it appears that, now that the Endless no longer control the universe, shadows begin to move. Some people hear whispers, some disappear. The waiting has reached its conclusion and whatever their goal, the Thyarch (how the Endless called them in scary stories) awaken and begin to shape existing governments and societies in order to serve it.
