"Vatshir" comes from the Yiddish language, meaning "Watcher."

Yiddish is an incredibly ancient language, predating Latin, and is still presently used in certain cultural regards.

"Vatshir" is easily spoken, easily remembered, and off-English enough to give a sense of foreign mystique.

I would have gone with something Yazidi, but Yiddish works too.
