Philautia is an old greek word for self-love. It has less of a negative connotation than narcissism.

Aristotle is sometimes quoted with saying "All friendly feelings for others are an extension of a man’s feelings for himself." to explain the importance of Philautia.

I could imagine Horatio proclaiming the same.
