The game freezes (spinning color wheel until rebooted) when trying to access the diplomacy screen. Otherwise, the game functions normally.

This is on a 1.7 GHz Intel Core i7 MacBook Air with Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB graphics card and 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory.

I am having the identical problem. Makes the game unusable after the first 30 turns or so.

2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 Macbook Air, 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory, Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB.

Topics could be merged.

Fortunately, you can still make diplomacy with other empires by clicking on the icon above the home system of the said empire in the galactic view. At least it works for me.
