I'm having the exact same bug, I end up having to alt-f4 to get out of the game. It's a shame to be missing out on such a cool feature of this game.

Terribly sorry about that. I suspect it is not an election bug, but rather an serious error in the AI, which prevents the validation of user commands (in this case moving to the next election screen). 

Can you upload a saved game before the election, to reproduce this? If you also have a saved game a few turns before, this is great.

Also I will need your diagnostics file (the one corresponding to a game session where the issue occurs), located in Documents/Endless Space 2/Temporary files

A save a turn just before the election (actually it happens on turn 121, the save i attached in my first message was on turn 120)

I have the same bug as F0x above. I've had it on previous games where I played Sophons and UE (and essentially gave up), but this time I'm playing Lumeris and it happened again, preventing me from continuing my game. 

Description

Stuck on step 2 of election as well, when I try to click Next Step it prevents me from going further. Cannot even "Skip", I have to use Task Manager to exit the game.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Continue turns until election comes up.

2. Back or don't back a particular candidate; doesn't seem to matter

3. Election begins - hit "next step" to go to the results

4. Stuck in election screen.

Election should end as normal with some sort of outcome.

Notes

As said in others' posts,  you cannot get past this screen, no matter what you do. Results appear empty or unloaded. I can hear the sound effects occurring as usual but visual is gone and clicking options does nothing.

I've attached two different games from around the same time, as well as an output file I found and two diagnostics. Couldn't figure out why the diagnostics wouldn't upload so I zipped everything into one file. This includes my dxdiag too, if that helps at all!
