Over-colonization techs do not work unless you save/load game

The HyperPACs technology provides Patriotic Press which is supposed to increase the number of systems you can have before going into over-colonization. (Annoyingly the tool-tip doesn't tell you how much of an improvement it gives, which is strange, because other tool-tips provide lots of helpful info.)


However, researching this tech will give no improvement... until you save and reload the game. Passing turns is not enough.

So... I looked it up on the Steam forums and it was still marked as present. And guess what, I'm playing in V1.5.48 S5 GOLD-Public and yes indeed, this bug is still present !

Not only does the technology doesn't tell us what it's going to do (+2 limit to the number of colonized systems, apparently), but it does not do anything unless you save and reload the game.


For what it's worth, one of the thing that was mentioned on the Steam forums was that people had this happening in their tutorial game. I am also playing the tutorial game. No idea if this has an impact, but the fact is, it's not a very nice bug to have (and the lack of info on the UI is annoying, compared to the amazingly user-friendly interface in general).

It must be fixed! It's such a hell - bent glaring issue! One useless/essential tech! How come!!!

Unfortunately there are far worse bugs than this one out there if you read through the highly voted posts.

This is pratically a game-breaking bug... Specially for multiplayer... How did they allow this even went through...?

Are there any other game-breaking bugs in the original game, and multiplayer games?
