If i lower the master volume to 50% the race intro videos go almost completly quiet, far below the rest of the game. If i however keep master volume att 100% it has the same sound level as the rest of the game.

Yup, the videos are checking the master volume twice and being reduced by it twice. Was reported in alpha 1, still not fixed. This now also includes the new colonization videos.
