I also encountered problem. But I do not have a save file to back up the story.

Nothing you need to do to reproduce it.  It starts up immediately when loading the save.  I accepted a peace treaty from Leandra of the Lumeris; now, she won't stop calling me an eel.  I made the agreement in good faith.  I'm beginning to think she's the eel trying to ruin my fun!  

I do disagree minorly with the original poster: where I am in my game, I don't think the statement is warranted at all.  I think the AI decided to be deceitful, but it triggered it to call the player deceitful instead.  Also, the workaround did not work to prevent this problem.  It continues unabated if I end my turn, too.  I might have to just retire my game...  :(
