Scan 5 Atmospheric Curiosities (In the steps of...? Or something like that? early game deed)

Description

Deed to scan 5 atmospheric curiosities fired. I usually wait to scan these curiosities, so I had one ready to scan. I scanned it. Next turn, I was given credit for scanning 5 atmospheric curiosities.

That's not a deed, it's a cooperative quest. All empires on the map need to scan 5 atmospheric curiosities total, you get credit based on your participation.

That doesn't make sense, though. How can I scan 1 in a co-op mission and somehow still get the top prize? It doesn't state that I shared the prize. 

I'll read it closer next time to see if some clarification is necessary.
