United Empire heroes don't gain xp for space battles

Expected Behavior

After imperial heroes fight a major space battle and defeat enemy ships, they should gain xp.

Description

1. Place an imperial hero in charge of a fleet

2. Fight a major battle and kill enemy ships.

3. The imperial hero xp remains the same from before the battle

 Reproduciblity 

3/5 I tried it on two different heroes over multipliable battles.  I have only played once through with the EU faction.  The bug was at the start of the game.

Version

1.06 but start game on 1.05
