So for some reason, whenever i try to have an election, my game bugs out.  

It will ask me for my actions/input (official support etc), then upon hitting next it just has a heart attack and breaks.  I cannot hit next, i cannot skip, i cannot even go back to menu or the galaxy map.  I have to task manager Endless space 2 to get it to close every time.  I have tried reloading an autosave 2 turns prior, but even then it still crashes.  

I do not understand why elections are at the end turn phase.  This is probably what is causing the crash, as the game s trying to calculate AI moves, events etc but cant because the stupid election in in the way.  

Anyways, how do i fix this?

Side note:  Is there a search function on the archived bug reports, because I tried looking up this bug, but scrolling through like 20 gajillion bug threads is just a waste of time.
