  • Summary / Title: Horatio 50 population collection bonus reading/performing wrong.
  • Description: Upon collecting 50 Horatio in your empire you will recieve the collection bonus which reads "+0.1 Influence per 1 food converted", this is indeed the case but you also recieve a 1 industry for each food converted as well. Whether this is intented or not the industry conversion seems to be wildly inbalanced so I assume the additional industry conversion is the bug, not the missing description.
  • Steps to Reproduce: 1. Collect 50 Horatio total in your empire and view changes in industry on max pop systems.
  • Reproducibility: Upon collecting 50 Horatio simply look at a max pop systems' industry production and record it, then use a hangar to transport any amount of population anywhere.
  • Expected Behavior: Only 0.1 influence per 1 food should be converted at max pop on system.
  • Version: 1.0.52

+1 this, I am playing a multiplayer game as horatio and upon reaching 50 pop total across my empire, unlocking the final pop collection bonus, my home system which is at max pop with all planets colonized is converting all excess food to industry (around 380) so my total industry has skyrocketd to 800.  I assume this is a bug or it is a missing description in the population collection bonus tooltip for horatio. (Although the horatio need something like this, maybe not so strong, to help balance them against other factions)

As far as balance is concered; yes the horatio of all races should get a significant collection bonus. However in this current state they ruin games.

Hello :)

We just fixed this on the internal build, it should be pushed to the public version sooner than later!

Cheers,

Just curious, fixed it how? Did you eliminate the Food->Industry conversion (I think that will kill the already shakey Horatio viability), or just add it to the tooltip?

So, are you guys planning on doing some buffs to Horatio? I think they are by far the weakest race (especially since they are the only ones that don't start on either a temperate or fertile planet). I think the food conversion could be a really cool mechanic if it was incorporated into their playstyle.

I had a quick chat with some other Game Designers about Horatio and we more or less agreed on Horatio not necessarily being the most powerful faction of all :p

So a balancing pass is definitely not off the table eventually!

Cheers,
