Okay, I’ve discovered a bit of a pattern. First of all, this also affects Interplanetary Transport Network, but not Hyperium Capture (both under Plasma Metallurgy tech). The pattern is complicated, but I’ll try my best. Let’s assume everything is always shown correctly before step one and look at a few scenarios:

1. Hover over Astrofinance -> Effects label is shown
2. Hover over Astrofinance -> Effects label stays shown

1. Hover over Plasma Metallurgy -> Effects label is shown
2. Hover over Plasma Metallurgy -> Effects label has vanished

1. Hover over Multi-Thread Management
2. Hover over Astrofinance -> Effects label has vanished
3. Hover over Multi-Thread Management
4. Hover over Astrofinance -> Effects label has appeared

1. Hover over Extreme Atmospherics
2. Hover over Astrofinance -> Effects label has vanished
3. Hover over Extreme Atmospherics
4. Hover over Astrofinance -> Effects label has appeared

So there are quite a few different interactions that trigger certain labels to disappear or reappear, not only in the tech screen, but also in the star system management view. I probably haven’t found them all and there might be other labels affected (I only looked at this small section of the tech tree), but hopefully I could help you to pin this strange bug down.

I use workaround with Astrofinance and Multi-Thread Management quite a lot. If lables disappear just hover a bit over Astrofinance and then over Multi-Thread and they appear again. An only temporary solution to this annoying bug.

Huh, I just loaded my last savefile from March 11, checked all the above steps, and the bug has disappeared. I’m almost 100% certain that the bug was present when I played it in March. Was there a patch in the meantime?

I also created a new game and the bug is not there. I’m pretty certain that the bug had always been present for me from the start in a new game.

It also has something to do with Vsync option in the settings. If it is turned off the bug appears very rarely for me, when it is on it is very frequent.

I have it on Enabled (1:1) and still don’t get the bug anymore.
