Vaulter Portal bug

Just had a bug with the vaulter portal. I wanted to send a fleet to a pirate system. This pirate system showed as having a portal. My fleet went to my nearest system and tried to portal but, presumably, since I am not friends with them they could use it. But it still sent them along the direct line that the portal was drawn except they are slow boating it the whole way. Taking star lanes would have been way faster.

Have no add-ons, just official content.

Just some extra information from my own investigation. On the turn 72 auto save the portal is in the pirate system and my fleet has movement points avalible but has not yet attempted to transit through. On the turn 73 auto save the ships have attempted to travel through, failed, and now the portal is no longer showing in the pirate system. NOTE: At the end of turn 72, when all actions had been done including telling all ships to do thier planned movements I saved for the end of the night. So, at some point between the turn 72 auto save and the end when I saved for sleep is when the failed transit occured and the portal icon disappeared. Auto saves from turnes 73 to 76 all show no portal in the pirate system but as you can clearly see in my above screen shot it is turn 76 and the pirate system is showing as having a portal. So, the portal reappeared at some point between the turn 76 auto save and the point I took the screen shot. I am guessing it reappeared when I was setting new destinations for the fleet trying to firgure out why it was where it was. Since it had to complete it's trip to the pirate system before relaying to anywhere else I told it to go and there must me an "is there a portal in this system?" check when it was planning a new route and that caused the portal icon to reappear and it use a portal from that system as a legal step for routes.

I have all the auto save files mentioned above and a save file from directly after the screen shot. Unfortunatly I don't have the file from end of turn on turn 73 because I saved over it with the late turn 76 save before I realized I would be relivant to the bug.

I think I figured out what was happenning. I was supporting pirates in another system not realizing that all pirates share a faction. so, when I was cordial, the portal was avalible. When it fell to wary, it was not. The ships should have rerouted though or probably just had they're orders end at the next system requiring them to be reissued with the knowledge the portal was not available. So, bug is: if portal usability status changes between travel orders given and portal usage then ships take the portal route off lane slow boating it the whole way instead of rerouting or requesting new orders

Thanks for adding that for clearance. Had a similar thing happen to me as well. Was wondering why I couldn't use pirate portals anymore, but didn't know you have to have the highest (second-highest?) relation status with them in order to use their portals. 

TIL you practically buy yourself portals for a limited time when bargaining with the pirates.

As Vaulters it is possible to hide your ships as being a pirate, and then you should be able to use the portals?
