  • Summary:  AI's truce offer is illogical.
  • Description:  In a war against the Vaulters and their Sophon allies, my Alliance is crushing them.  In the attached save game file, there is a truce offer from the Vaulters where they are offering Antimatter.  If I refuse the offer and go to the next turn, they are now requesting high-level techs and resources from me along with the truce, even though they are very much on the losing side of the war.
  • Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Load the saved game file attached below.
    2. Note that the truce offer from the Vaulters includes an offer from them to give me antimatter, because they are on the losing side of the war.
    3. Refuse the truce offer.
    4. Go to next turn.
    5. When the truce offer from the Vaulters comes in, note that they are requesting high-level techs and resources from me to agree to the truce, even when they were the ones who suggested the offer, and they're still very much on the losing side of the war.
  • Reproducibility:  5/5
  • Expected Behavior:  The Vaulters offer techs/resources/systems from their own collection to me (and not the other way around), as they are fundamentally begging me for the truce.
  • Version:  v1.4.13 S5
  • Notes:  Although I own them and have them installed, I am playing with the Supremacy and Penumbra DLCs turned off.  I have also noticed this same issue in a previous game.  Lastly, I think that this might be one of those "if you re-launch the game and load the autosave file, the bug fixes itself" issues, but unfortunately I accidentally copied over the autosave file that reproduced that "fix".

Still present in the latest patch.

Is it possible there is a logic flip somewhere in the code? The AI is losing, but seems to be demanding rather than offering things to sue for peace.

This happens all the time since as far as I can remember; persisting after every major patch, with or without DLC or mods enabled.

I'd also like to point out that the AI will still refuse offers if there is any blue in their “happy” bar in the diplomatic exchange, it only seems to be guaranteed if they have 25% or more blue in their “happy” bar. I don’t know if this is intended or not. Seems to be fairly random but I notice it a lot more when dealing with stocks of resources, maybe the algorithm and the UI aren’t in sync around this stuff?

I can add.

There were three forces, I - the third, and two more alliances.

I had peace with them, but they fought among themselves.

I wanted to support a weaker alliance so that they would not interfere with my development. He offered a bunch of resources in exchange for 1 particle of dust.

Was sent very far with my offer.

I was surprised.

I'm sorry, I hope you understand my English.
