Bug: Nakalim Faction Quest Chapter 4 Not Completing, Cannot Progress

Summary:

Nakalim quest line chapter 4 (The Secuity of Faith - Part1A) not completing if one of the required techs is already researched.

Expected Behavior:

Quest completes after researching required tech.

Actual Behavior:

Quest does not complete.

Full Info:

I got to chapter 4 of the Nakalim quest line (The Secuity of Faith - Part1A), and it is not completing. The quest asks me to research both 'Evaporation Inhibitors' and 'Climate Engineering', although I already had 'Evaporation Inhibitors' researched when I first got the quest. I finished researching Climate Engineering a few turns ago, and only now realised that the quest didn't complete like it should have.

'Upvoting' this bug - I have the same issue. Already had Evaporation Inhibitors researched when I first got the quest, finished researching Climate Engineering a few turns ago and the Quest has not completed. Thanks!

Did you start that match after the hotfix or before? As mentioned, games started before the hotfix will likely not benefit from it.

I have the same problem using a game started yesterday under the pre-patch from Steam. Same behavior, already had Evaporation Inhibitors researched when the quest started, researched Climate Engineering and quest will not complete.

This is a little later in the game (about 15 turns before Economic victory), the quest did eventually progress to Chatper 4 part 2B and I guess that was the last quest of the storyline so...working as intended. Disregard from me, please.

Not sure. Started the game on 17 September and the version is V1.5.3 S5 GOLD-Public, with all DLC.

That is the 'old 'version. In Steam under preferences, Beta you can get an optional patch.

Games with started on 1.5.3. will not benefit form the patch. Will even show other bugs.

Thank you for the information. On version 1.5.5 and later, this bug should be resolved, but as mentioned games started on 1.5.3 do not benefit from all the fixes in 1.5.5 and later.
