For the time being, it's intentional that the main menu scene does not cycle, as we want to give players the chance to see the Nakalim ships up close (and show off our 3D artists' great work.)

The rotation should be restored eventually, possibly with the next patch.

That was my guess as well. 

Any idea about the stuttering of the front ship?

It's cold in space, and you can clearly see the space-wind blowing past the ships.

Jokes aside, unfortunately I have no clue why the carrier is quivering like that.

I saw it once in a battle as well. Only once.
