1.5.10 not a bug... Lumeris "mobile commercial branch" trade bonus probably not working

When you wonder if the Lumeris super duper behemoth module is as useless as it seems, you go and test it!

TL:DR 

  • system has behemoth for +250% trade value in orbit, system in scanner view does not include this bonus in "other sources" of extra trade value,
  • empiric observation of the value converted from hero skill (which is trash btw) on system reveals no real difference.
  • The commercial branch can not be used on Juggernauts negating it's other bonuses close to completely (behemoth locked to 1 lane strategies)lumerisBehemoth.sav


Since there is no real system trading value number showing to follow I shall illustrate a difference of having the behemoth with Lumeris-specific behemoth mod available from juggernaught tech utilizing the useless "ULTIMATE" skill of the Lumeris hero family, which converts 40% of dust from trade route to food and industry showing 15,1. which means the value of the system is about 30ish for simplicity. Of course this is just an attempt at understanding the trade value, cause yet again, I point out there is no actual value to track.





With +250% behemoth in orbit (as the trade value of the system is 30)


without +250% (behemoth flies away! also there is no difference, also checked next turn if recalc happens, no difference)

I can see five 'Percent 0.5' modifiers at TradingRouteSystemBaseIncome property. From what I'm seeing that module is working as intended.

But why is it not affected? Why increasing output of system 250% has no effect? What is it, that I do not understand?

Food/Ind bonus from passing trade routes is determined by the trading route power, in other words things like the number or length of trading routes passing by. That bonus is given just because of trading routes, not your system attributes.

You need to separate trade value (on system) and trade power (on route).


Every colonized system has trade value, which is 0.1*Population*SystemLevel. Every trade route has trade power (named by me :P), which is proportional to the length of its route.


Then trade route income is calculated with trade value of departure node, one of destination node, trade power, and other trade route modifiers including trading company level or carge ships.


But, Food & Ind from passing-by trade routes are sheer result of trade power passing that node. So it's not related to trade value.
