  • Summary / Title: Revolutionaries in the Post Pirate Era

  • Description: Almost every time that I hack and support revolutionaries in my games they seem to immediately make peace with them.  This non aggression pact I thought was just part of the game.  Turns out, if you wipe out the pirates (getting the quest for Fluff), and then support revolutionaries...they STILL make a non aggression pact with them.  I have never seen revolutionaries in game actually attack a late game AI player (probably too much FIDS to spare).  I did however see revolutionaries take down a very early empire.

  • Steps to Reproduce: Wipe out pirate league.  Support revolutionaries in hacking.  Notice they generate ships, but immediately go to "Guard" a system.

  • Reproducibility: 5/5

  • Expected Behavior: If there is no pirates leauge to interact with, it shouldn't be possible to make a NAP agreement with revolutionaries.

  • Version: 1.5.10 Public GOLD

  • Notes: If there is a way to get around this, or this is just normal gameplay thats cool.  Please see save game.

DId you try the new patch 1.5.11?

Well, revolutionaries are another sort of pirates imho.

I do think they wait for the manpower to go down? In your game i went to war with Horatio and wiped out the only ship there.

Now the pirates are sieging. So a behemoth came by.

I hope this helps you understand the game mechanics.

And if you do, tell me :)

I dont have any sort of preview patch or anything.  Are you saying the Revolutionaries are not part of the pirates league?  I don't think that is correct because you can spawn a lot of Revolutionary ships on an enemy empire va Hacking, but they will go to "Guard" mode, and not Seige.  You can buy a pirate mark, and attempt to mark one of those systems and it will not allow you saying "They have a non aggression pact".

Revolutionary ships are revolutionarists of the same empire of that system. That is what i know, so i don't think they belong to the pirates.

I believe it says so in the description of the hack when you hover over the revolutionary option.

Pirate mark is something else. You cannot buy a pirate mark, when the pirates are gone. Or is it? Is the diplomacy option still available after the last pirate lair has been destroyed? That would be odd.

But i am not sure about the issue you reported. If it works as intended.

No you cannot buy a pirate mark after the league is destroyed.  That is still working as intended.

If you make revolutionaries on an enemy empire, and they have a NAP agreement with the league, the revolutionaries will NOT attack.  They will gaurd the system.  If the revolutionaries were not part of the league, they should seige and invade.

My issue is that after the league is destroyed, the enemy empires STILL HAVE A NAP WITH THE LEAGUE, which makes revolutionaries not seige and invade the systems.  Understand?
