  • Summary / Title: Advanced Climate Engineering module is useless unless Climate Engineering is researched
  • Description: If the user only researches Behemoth Advanced Climatology and Evaporation Inhibitors, Behemoths won't be able to terraform anything. Unfallen terraformation tech doesn't seem to apply, either.
  • Steps to Reproduce: 1. Research Behemoth Advanced Climatology only 2. Research Evaporation Inhibitors 3. Try terraforming a sterile planet
  • Reproducibility: ?/5
  • Expected Behavior: Behemoths should be able to perform unlocked terraforming actions (sterile to normal; Arctic to forest in Unfallen "Fire" branch of final quest)
  • Version: 1.5.8
  • Attachments: bug.sav

Update: it doesn't work even with Climate Engineering unlocked

Before going to university, one does need to finish high school.

That's my guess.

It could be more clear though.

It does not work indeed, even with Climate Ingeneering researched. I think it only allows you to terraform non-colonized planets. So you can't do the trick of terraforming at the same time as building something else. The idea behind the technology is to allow you terraform planets you don't have a colonization technology for. I smtms do this when I go for science victory (researching something like Hyper PACs, Machine Bacteria or Adaptive Bureaucracies slows your science in the long run). It would be nice if it worked for your planets though, especially for cravers who could terraform and gain science for orbiting simultaneously.

As far as I know (never used the tech) it works only on planets in systems you don´t own any planet in. So basically you can only prepare a system for takeover.

I am pretty sure you can actually terrafrom within your system if you have not yet colonized some planets. Haven't done it in a while but I can't see myself using it for other purposes...
