• Summary / Title: Game won't maximize on startup
• Description: When opening the game on my desktop (through Steam), it stays minimized and I can't window it at all. I can hear the game playing.
• Steps to Reproduce: open steam. click play.
• Reproducibility: 5/5
• Expected Behavior: game opens and I happily play Horatios.
• Version: newest version. I tried to find it but couldn't :( 03.02.20 uninstall reinstall in Steam.
• Notes: My issue is exactly like the person in the steam forum link above. Updated to windows 10 on desktop and problem started. Works fine on my laptop. I tried what he tried with registry editor and messing around with resolutions to no effect. File properties: I tried the compatibility windows 7, 8, run as admin, isnt read-only, disabled fullscreem optimization etc.

Again, works on my lappy so ill continue to play there. No rush for me, but someone else might not have the option so I thought I'd post. I'll check up daily in case any questions need answered.

Updated radeon driver (Sapphire Radeon R9 280) and restarted pc. Same problem.

I'm aware that the thread was solved. He solved it by lowering resolution, starting game then resetting resolution if I understood it correctly. I can't do the "quit" part because I can't get into the minimized game.

I tried the following Registry Editor settings:

I tried older windows compatibility in ES2.exe properties, disable fullscreen optimization, and run as administrator.

if i wait long enough (5 min), with any setting, my screen blinks for a split second and ES2 crashes and so does Steam sometimes. Youtube videos crash. I've had firefox tabs crash with it too.

I noticed when I open the game, the window (in respective resolution size) opens for a split second then minimizes.

I did try deleting the registry file and starting the game. Still nothing.
