I need help.

Two months ago I purchased Endless Space 2, my first Games2Gether game, and tried playing it on my Microsoft Surface Pro 6 (i5/8gb/256gb). The game worked fantastically, no issues, and I logged 50 hours and decided this was my new game for a few months during qurantine.

Fast forward to last week. I sold the Surface Pro 6 and purchased a Surface Laptop 3. This model is a 13" with an i5 (10th Gen Intel i5-1035G7) and has 8GB RAM. I had no doubt this would be an improvement and since my last device could run it no problem, I figured so would this one.

Downloaded the game last night, tried to launch it. SEGA intro clip plays, loading screen pops up, excitement brews, and then crash.

This happened over twenty times, all during which I'm researching forums, looking at other forums on this site, reachign out to SEGA, checking reddit, updating drivers, rolling drivers back, uninstalling from steam and reinstalling, restarting my computer, updating OpenSSL (don't even know what that is), nothing. This game does not want to work, and I would not have purchased this computer if I knew this would have been an issue.

Can someone help me resolve this?

For a little added info on my progress (still need help with this though):

After some messing around I have determined that the issue can be byassed by turning off the device Wifi/disconnecting from the internet. By doing this, the game is able to successfully load to the main menu.

However, once you're at the main menu, the game crashes once connected back to the internet, but in a delayed sort of way. So approximately 10 seconds or so after connecting back to the internet, the game will crash. (I even had time to click on "join" and see a list of the active games I could publically join).

Why is this happening? Are there any known network related errors that cause the game to behave in this way?
