  • Description: Game crashes without error message or warning during intial boot up
  • Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open game 2. Click through publisher and dev intro OR click through it 3. Game crashes
  • Reproducibility: 5/5
  • Expected Behavior: Game should start up.
  • Version: Unsure, whatever is most recent
  • Notes: I know this is not a recent problem. I have tried every suggestion listed in the "Common Problems" thread. Reinstalling did not help, nor did any combination of running as Admin, running in Win 7 compatibility, updating drivers, etc. I'm familiar with common fixes for problem like this. I've played the game for 7.5 hours, it was fine the past two days then started not working today without any updates or changes to the game files.

You may have the explanation in the diagnostic html files that should be, by default, in C:\Users\$yourUser\Documents\Endless space 2\Temporary Files

Those files, once for every game launch, contain info/warn/error/exception messages provided by the game engine itself and are really usefull for those situations

From the stickied dev post I read, I would want to share a diagnostic file from the same day as the crash. I only have files from 9/9 and 9/10, and none from 9/11 or 9/12. Would either of the files I have be useful?

I checked my AV again while running through reasons why a diagnostic file might not be generating and discovered it reblocked the program. I don't know what the original problem was since it was definetly unblocked when I was troubleshooting yesterday, but now the game boots.

Thanks for the help.

If you have an NVIDIA gpu something that has worked for me is to go nvidia control panel 3d conf, then settings and add Endless space 2 to the list and open the game from Nvidia GEforce experience.
