Hi all, after some time and nostalgia I wanted to play this beautiful title again. But sadly, the game doesn't seem to start anymore. I simply click on the start button, the icon appears in the taskbar but the game closes before even starting.

Is the game still supported by the developers? I hope so.

I have a PC with Windows 11, Intel i5-12400F, Radeon RX580 and 32GB of RAM.

Good morning everyone. After trying to start the game from Steam setting various beta versions, I solved the problem by changing the executable permissions of the game by running it as administrator.
I hope it can help others who may have the same problem.

Why the heck game requires administrative privileges?

Likely some antivirus or windows virus changed/is changing one of the critical game files. This could mean an important file was set to read only, causing the game to crash when it attempts to write to that file, or the program is currently reading said file, making the OS prevent access to that file (or the game is trying to read it, and it doesn't have permission).

Thanks for the reply. I don't know why it was necessary to authorize it as administrator (my PC is used only by me, I have full powers) but it was the only way to make it work. Probably due to some new Windows 11 security protocol or Windows Defender.

I just know that it works now and I can play it again =)

Had the same issue today after upgrading to Windows 11 and this fixed it for me as well!  Thank you for posting and maybe I'll mention it to the devs in person this Sunday :D
