I have recently been on an Endless Space 2 binge and have been trying to snag some remaining achievements. I tried to get the one where you need to win with a custom faction, but it looks like it is not triggering like it should.

I created a custom faction (I set Faction as "United Empire", "Affinity as Omniscience", and gave it a bunch of positive empire traits) and just won a science victory. Nonetheless, the achievement for winning with a custom faction is not triggering. When checking the victory screen/overview, it looks like the game is thinking that I won as the Menzari (I took that path in the faction quest line) even though I played as a unique faction.

Am I missing something in custom faction set up? Or something else at play?

Game version: V1.5.60 S5 Gold-Public (playing through Steam on a Mac)

Enabled DLC's: Penumbra, Supremacy, and Vaulters.

Created another custom faction, didn't finish the faction quest to the end (and also enabled the Awakening DLC). This time I got the achievement.
