Ground combat continues even if you kill the enemy fleet over your system.

 I don't think this is a bug: after all it is a ground battle, which means the troops are fighting on the ground and not from the ships.

However, orbiting ships provide additional Manpower in Ground Battles, which should not apply to the rest of the battle once the ships are destroyed.

If it is the case, please tell us!
